Samsung's Exynos 5300 modem promises 10 Gbps download and install rates and a long-lasting battery

The newest 5G modem from Samsung Semiconductor is here with the recently announced Exynos 5300. The Sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G-capable modem raises to 10Gbps download and install and 3.87 Gbps submit rates with support for both SA (standalone) and NSA (non-standalone) 5G networks.

Exynos 5300 is fabbed on Samsung Foundry's 4nm EUV process, which should bring improved power effectiveness and, in turn, much longer battery life. The new modem is configurable to connect to various chipsets, thanks to its integrated PCIe user interface, and supports the very latest 3GPP 5G NR Launch 16 standard.

There is no official verification on which chipset will integrate the new Exynos 5300 modem, but some reports recommend it may launch on Google's Tensor 3 chipset with the Pixel 8 collection.
