The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, expected to introduce in Q3 2023, will load batteries sourced from LG Power Service, records TheElec. Well, that is hardly unexpected since Samsung has bought batteries from LG Power Service for its foldables for the previous 3 years.
Along with LG Power Service, Samsung will also resource the batteries for its 2023 collapsible mobile phones from Samsung SDI and China's Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), which should help it avoid any hold-ups that might occur because of problems with the provide chain for the batteries.
The magazine also says that the cost of a solitary battery is expected to be about $10-15, and since the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will use 2 cells because of their folding design, the total cost of batteries will be up to $30 each mobile phone.
